MYKOLA TROKH

Mykola Trokh, Mykola Trokhymchuk, (1961—2007) is a Ukrainian photographer. He received a technical education at Professional technical school N. 5, Bila Tserkva. After he worked for 10 years (1979 — 1989) as a fitter at the Zhulyan machine-building plant. Since the 1980s, he has been living in Kyiv, studying in private art studios. In 1987 he bought his first camera and started shooting. Since 1991, he has been actively interacting with the artists of Parkomuna (Parisian Comune – artists squat in Kyiv). The main focus of his attention was in the field of staged, game photography, although documentary shooting is also present in the creative array of the author. Synthesizes the language of photography with graphics, manipulating film or print, creating applications from parts of frames, or colouring them. He was engaged in both artistic and commercial photography: in 1991, he received the Grand Prix at the contest “Miss photo model, photo advertising – 1991”. In the 1990s and 2000s, he cooperated with the magazine “NASH” (“НАШ”). In 1996, in the Apology. Manifestos. Declarations. Monologues. was published text of Mykola Trokh’s manifesto (edited by S. Vasiliev).
