Yevhen Nayden (1943 – 2019) is a painter, graphic artist, and writer. Honored Artist of Ukraine (2007). He studied with the artists I. Kryvetskyi, V. Smolyar, V. Kukoba, A. Petrytskyi (1957–1960), Leningrad Art School “Tavriyska”, graduated from Cherkasy Pedagogical Institute (1969), Penza Art School (1971). He worked in Cherkasy: methodologist in fine arts at the House of Folk Art (1971–74); participated in the opening of the ceramics and wood carving departments. Participant of all-Ukrainian, all-Union, and international art exhibitions since 1972. Studied the technique of Dutch masters of the 17th century, created canvases in Rembrandt’s painting system. He painted complex paintings on boards covered with levkas according to icon painting samples.
