ABOUT

We are pleased to announce our next exhibition in the White Space – the project Valkyrie by photographer and interdisciplinary artist Vera Blansh.
Valkyrie is a story of strength, continuity, and new meanings that emerge even in the darkest times.
Vera experienced the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, documenting the war as a photojournalist. Later, she moved to Japan, where she began working with ceramics, creating pieces inspired by Ukrainian warriors and art. At the same time, she mastered the traditional Japanese ink painting technique.
By combining Ukrainian and Japanese motifs, the artist has developed a unique visual code: military helmets echo Ukrainian wreaths, while women embody mythical Valkyries – symbols of resilience. Upon returning to Ukraine, Vira continued the project, creating a series of ceramic grenades – symbols of hope and victory. Their metallic coloration resembles armor – a motif that runs throughout Valkyrie.
This exhibition is not only about war but also about the strength of Ukrainians, the continuity of traditions, and the search for meaning in times of hardship.
The exhibition will be open by appointment starting April 8. Further details will be announced in a separate post.
