Mykhailo Turovsky – (born 1933 in Kyiv) is a prominent Ukrainian-American painter, graphic artist, and writer. He is known for his powerful, expressionistic works that reflect themes of human suffering, resilience, and beauty.
Turovsky studied at the Kyiv Art Institute before immigrating to New York in 1979, where he continued his artistic career. His art is characterized by its emotional depth and symbolic imagery, drawing from his personal experiences, including surviving the Holocaust and witnessing historical upheavals.
He has exhibited extensively in Ukraine, the United States, and worldwide, receiving critical acclaim for his contributions to modern art. Turovsky’s works are held in major collections, including the National Art Museum of Ukraine and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
