Anatol Stepanenko (born 1948) is a Ukrainian painter, graphic artist, performer, film director, and media artist. He is a representative of the New Wave movement.
From 1993 to 1998, he lived and worked in Switzerland. In 1994, he received a scholarship from the Christoph Merian Stiftung as part of the IAAB (International Artists Exchange Program) in Basel. During this period, he organized performances and artistic actions, curated art events, and worked as a director. He also experimented with audiovisual formats, creating video works such as Collage (1992) and Underground Dances (1998).
Stepanenko participated in a banner exhibition at the Venice Biennale, a project by the international art group FABS in Łódź, the 4th International Graphic Triennial in Japan, exhibitions of miniatures and small-format paintings in Norway and Poland, and an exhibition of independent Ukrainian artists in New York.
