Ivan Lytovchenko

Ivan Lytovchenko (1921–1996) was born in the village of Buhruvate, Sumy region. He was a participant in the combat operations of the Second World War. After being demobilized from the Armed Forces in 1948, he entered the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (now the Lviv National Academy of Arts), graduating in 1954. That same year, he became a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine.

Ivan Lytovchenko took an active part in many national and international art exhibitions. In 1960, he was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, and in 1975 — a diploma from the Academy of Arts of the USSR. In 1992, he was granted the honorary title of Honored Artist of Ukraine, and in 1995, he was elected a full member of the Academy of Architecture of Ukraine.
