Serhii Savchenko was born in Odesa, Ukraine, in 1949. In 1974 he graduated from the Odesa Art College. He began his exhibition in 1976. In the early 1980s he actively joined a circle of Odesa non-conformists. Since 1988 is a member of the National Union of Artists. He is one of the founders of NAM (National Association of Artists), artistic association “Choven” (Boat) and the artistic association “Mamay.” Serhii Savchenko lives in Odesa, Ukraine.

Serhii specializes in monumental art, painting, graphics, and sculpture. He is an honorary member of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.” He is a laureate of the UAZIS Prize (Ukrainian Association for Protection of Historical Places), International Biennale “Impreza” (Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, 1989). Diploma in the “Arts” nomination at the International Biennale “Impreza” (Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, 1991). Dipt-omas in the “Arts” nomination of the Autumn Salon (Lviv, Ukraine, 1998, 2001). Bears the Honorary title Zasluzheny Hudozhnyk Ukrainy (Honoured Painter of Ukraine).
