Stedley Art Foundation

Stedley Art Foundation has built a reputation for its dedication to artists and support of visionary artistic projects worldwide. The Foundation’s MISSION is to foster Ukraine’s cultural development through the promotion of Ukrainian artists and their projects, including enlivening transnational cultural exchanges. The Foundation’s GOAL is to establish a positive image of Ukrainian art on the international art scene. The Foundation’s PHILOSOPHY is that art should not be a luxury, but rather a right and a recognized esthetic and ethical necessity for any person.

Stella Beniaminova, a renowned Ukrainian collector and a founder of Stedley Art Foundation, was born in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1961, where she currently lives and works. Ms. Beniaminova started her first collection in the early 1990s, just shortly after graduating from Kyiv Medical University in 1983 with the Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Apart from her passion for art, Ms. Beniaminova successfully continued pursuing her medical career, and in 1995 she founded Stedley Dental Clinic in Kyiv, Ukraine. Ms. Beniaminova’s first art collection consisted mostly of the late 19th and early 20th century Russian and Ukrainian art, with only a few of the pieces still remaining in the collection. As Ms. Beniaminova continued to explore various art movements, in 2008 was launched a new comprehensive collection of Ukrainian Avant-garde, the art of the second part of the XX century, the art of the 1990s and contemporary Ukrainian art.
