Anatolii Sumar (1933–2006) entered the history of Ukrainian art with bright original artworks in which the reality of impressions is closely intertwined with abstract imagery. The artist was interested in architecture, music, and design. He recorded his thorough knowledge of the history of world art in a unique epistolary form – letters addressed to his grandchildren in Washington. The book “Letters about art” is the result of curator Valerii Sakharuk’s careful work with the artist’s archive.
