Paradiso Perduto – Pavlo Makov’s Exhibition at the NAMU

The National Art Museum of Ukraine and the Stedley Art Foundation are glad to present Paradiso Perduto – the project by Pavlo Makov.

26 September – 26 October

The official opening of the exhibition will take place on 26 September (Friday), at 6 p.m.

On 27 September (Saturday), at 2 p.m., Pavlo Makov will hold a special curatorial guiding tour.

The Paradiso Perduto space of Pavlo Makov is full of places that remain silent about certain issues. These are the containers, empty spaces, targets, plants. When looking at them, one can feel the presence of something that has not manifested itself yet, but has all the chances to do so. According to the artist, “I thought I was working with a metaphor – and then the events I had depicted started to take place.” An observing and sensitive viewer can feel it. When exploring the landscapes of Makov’s “paradise lost”, one can rethink the images and boundaries of one’s own paradise.
